Why is the dock not available. I have had my Rand McNally 720 for quite a few years. I had to remove my version because it would not go to the screen showing any upgrade map versions. Now when I went to reinstall it tells me that the dock is not available. So now what. Please advise.

Wayne, Just tried to download my miles out of my TND 520, The TND dock is no longer used and is considered to be at "end of life" from Rand McNally. I just got off the phone and was told there is no longer a way to update maps or backup any information. Apparently they expect everyone to upgrade to a new unit every few years.

Donnie, your exactly right.. every 4 year or so I've had to buy a new one... that is the way they get rich by screwing every one over.

Donnie, their "life time maps" isn't really truthful.
Once the unit is out of date so are the newest maps.
Depending on the unit it likely costs a user 100$ to 200$ a year before you buy a new one, that has 50$ of info in it.

We already have the dock from Rand McNally but cannot seem to get it to open. Do we need to re install or install a newer version?

Guest, You aren't the only one. I have been using it for years and now it stopped working. I reinstalled it and still nothing.

It's so easy to use. This is my first time and I have learned it so fast.
